Free??? Absolutely misleading use of the word! Crafty sales technique to siphon money from you.
12000 years is still a long time. Incredible!
I’m looking to book the icon of the seas June 2025 through VacationsToGo. Has anyone had any experiences with this site?
🖐🫣sounds and looks awful ! 🤣🔥
Great review, thank you.
Interesting video and well explained. Thank-you.
Question........ My husband and I are planning an Alaskan cruise, will be our first cruise. We live in NY, don't have a passport, but have enhanced drivers license which allow us to cross into Canada. Won't this document work in lieu of a passport during the cruise excursion??? Thank you for this video. I'm taking notes and learning a lot.
Have been on the Viking Egypt River cruise? Any tips you can share?
I honestly would never go to Alaska i have no desire to Pack jackets etc for a vacation plus they lack beaches and palm trees
You’re missing out. But to each their own. Happy travels.
We have taken five Viking river cruises and love them!
Which one has been your favorite?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I think the one to Russia was my favorite, but it might have been because it was the first one. My least favorite was China, mostly because there was so little time actually on the ship. I think in 2 weeks we took 5 airplane rides!
I've seen the Viking boats in Lyon, Budapest and Porto. It made me sad when I realized that these people will never experience the fine food and wines that are served only a few hundred feet away.
Who says that some are not getting off to experience the local cuisine?
I've seen the Viking boats in Lyon, Budapest and Porto. It made me sad when I realized that these people will never experience the fine food and wines that are served only a few hundred feet away.
Many thanks for this content ✌🏼
My pleasure! Planning a river cruise?
When exactly did you take this cruise Based on your reported weather issues, is there a better time to take this cruise?
We took the cruise in early April. We would recommend going later in the season. When were you thinking of going?
When did u guys go. I went on icon for the season June 1-8
And I had a blast
We went in January. Have plans to go back. What stateroom category did you stay in?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 i stayed in the new type of balcony. The sliding window. On deck 9
Think when came out got lot of people want same on it. But crazy price up for saleing out on off peak time from what I been seeing
Yes, prices are a bit all over the place now for the ship. Thinking of sailing on it?
Our first cruise was a Viking River cruise on the Elbe River to which we added a post cruise land tour to Warsaw and Krakow and the trip was fantastic. We appreciated being able to bring locally sourced wines and liquor as well as foods onto the ship and being able to leisurely stroll the towns along the way. It impossible to describe the quality of the food, the thoughtfulness of the crew, or the attention to detail we experienced - all fantastic. Our second cruise was a Viking Ocean cruise circumnavigating Iceland which the typical Icelandic weather impacted somewhat specifically affecting the land excursions. But the ship, crew, and all onboard experiences were top notch and very enjoyable. Once again, Viking does not prevent guests from bringing alcohol and food onto the ship, so we purchased some in duty-free and carried in onboard. But the comment about cocktails on the ship is true. We purchased two glasses of very good wine one afternoon before dinner and the cost was lower than we expected. We always had plenty of good wine with dinner and our waiter, we always tried to sit in Alan’s station, offered a glass to take back to our stateroom each evening. Dining on the ocean cruise was amazing with server Al reservation required restaurants to choose from and an amazing buffet restaurant that never disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the no casino, no kids aspect and will likely never choose another cruise line - why fix what isn’t broken?
Thanks for your review. When is the next cruise?
Are the rooms air conditioned?
Yes, they are temperature controls for heat and a/c.
We are in a balcony cabin for Dec. 28…can we request a coffee maker for the room?
Pretty sure coffee makers are not allowed in standard cabins. You should contact the cruise line to double check.
What restriction prevented you from riding a slide?
Total weight restrictions on the tube slide. We were off by two pounds.
Cruisers are losers! Just say no.
No and no. Thanks for watching.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I didn't.
@@Eatsleepcruise1 I've seen the Viking boats in Lyon, Budapest and Porto. It made me sad when I realized that these people will never experience the fine food and wines that are served only a few hundred feet away.
My sister does the cruise deal. She always tries to get me to go but I always ask her, what can I do on a cruise that I can't do at home? She never has an answer. I could care less about looking at the ocean for a few days. The cruise deal isn't for me.
Unless you live in France, pretty sure you can’t see the Eiffel Tower from your house. Happy travels.
Cruises are the equivalent of a high school cafeteria on water.
Not true at all. Thanks for playing.
So if you are someone who wants to get a daily workout in, you can't? Forgetting about the small walking track of 0.0625mi, can you get off the ship in port early enough to go for a run for 45-60min or does that timing with shower and breakfast not work with the daily schedule of activities?
There should be time several days to get a workout in the morning or in between activities in the afternoon.
We were on the Radgrid Paris to Normandy! The cruise was incredible! The tour guides outstanding! We love Viking!
Great to hear. When did you go?
I've seen the Viking boats in Lyon, Budapest and Porto. It made me sad when I realized that these people will never experience the fine food and wines that are served only a few hundred feet away.
@@Eatsleepcruise1we went early November 2021
Definitely buy good travel insurance that covers medical evacuation. While on an Alaskan cruise, my wife became quite ill and had to be admitted to the hospital in Ketchikan. Two days later, she had to be flown by an air-ambulance jet to a hospital in Seattle. The entire time, the insurance company paid for my hotel, ambulance transfers, air-ambulance cost ($70,000), shipping unneeded luggage back home, meals, etc. They reimbursed us for the unused portion of our cruise as well. They didn’t make us pay first and submit receipts-they paid directly and very quickly. Axa insurance was terrific. We will return to Alaska soon, and we’ll again sail on Holland America.
Thanks for the tip. Glad to hear your wife is doing better. Travel insurance is a must on any cruise, but especially when traveling to a remote area like Alaska. When is the next cruise?
While we always take the card with the ship’s location, if you have air tags in your luggage, they can easily be used to guide you back to the ship (or your hotel) using your iPhone. This saved us after dark in London when every street suddenly looked the same.
That’s a great tip. Just another reason to have air tags. When is the next cruise?
Great tip! Once I leave my hometown, I’m directionally challenged 😊
How is the dining room on deck six if there are only 4 decks?
It’s on deck 2.
We had the worst experience with Viking in 2013, when we arrived in Budapest with what was called the 400 year flood. We had even called ahead to confirm that the cruise would happen, and they lied. We were bused from Budapest to Vienna, and that’s when we went home after 4 days, 2 of which were travel days. Luckily, we had insurance, because the compensation Viking offered was ludicrous. And I never had the courtesy of a response to a letter I wrote to them. Very disappointing.
In the beginning of the video it shows glasses of wine. The drunks are serviced at dinner time. If a drunk gets loud he is taken off the boat. No refunds.
We just got back from the same Princess ship cruise, but we went all the way up to Skagway, all of our favorite port of call. Our inside passage cruise had great weather nearly all 7 days the end of May 2024. Our experience was mostly the same as yours including a very great upscale dining experience at the Catch restaurant. This being our first ever cruise we definitely recommend it. My only wish is that the ship got closer to the glaciers in Glacier Bay.
DB, another great tour. Im so excited that Carnival is going Big. Carnival style with a new large ship, Great !!! And so much... Food. Nice...
Thanks, glad you found the ship tour helpful. Plans to sail on Jubilee?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 Yep, its on the List. And I want to thank RCCL for pushing the industry to larger and newer ship. The Ships have become pretty amazing...
Don…💯💯💯💯💯⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Your ability to organize complex information, articulate & communicate are EXCELLENT. I found it especially helpful to have the deck number, the MAP, starboard & port articulated. CAMERA WORK’S OUTSTANDING. Video is Oscar worthy camera work, technically Impressive and captures the beauty of the ship. The video was steady, no fragmentation, PAUSES LONG ENOUGH TO MATCH SPACE W MAP While absorbing audio information. If I could, I would hire you this minute to create Travel videos for a variety of travel destinations 🥳 Princess is extremely fortunate to have the caliber of your work made available to all of us! (( I have watched +20 videos, read books, printed off the deck plans, menus, activities, your video surpassed ALL OTHERS)) I am deeply grateful to you.
Glad you enjoyed the video. When are you setting sail?
🌻🌻OUTSTANDING🌻🌻 easily understood. Well, organized information. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I went on this ship and absolutely loved it I was a few milliseconds away for setting a track record😂
Jeez, this a boring video. Even at 1.25x speed, I couldn't watch for more than 5 minutes!
We have taken several Viking river cruises and love them. Cruising Europe at Christmas time is incredible. I can't speak highly enough about Viking. On the other hand, we have also taken an ocean cruises and, frankly, hate it - only a short time in the ports, no time, everything al carte, rush, rush, rush. Add nasty casinos and far too many people only on board to drink ... this wasn't for us.
This is very expensive and it seems after you have paid for your cruise, what you get is very basic. I am going soon and I already regret booking with this cruise line.
We were on the Grand European. The port talks got shorter every day we were on the cruise. They ran out of cookies at the coffee bar on many days. Regarding the Aquavit Terrace, not all of the outside tables were set for meals. However if tables w/o tablecloths were available, it we sat at one, the friendly staff would bring out a setup and serve us. Also lunch on the Aquavit featured food which was grilled fresh outside. We met guests who were staying in the fanciest cabins. They complained that they had to stay indoors due to many bugs. It was very nice to visit other guests. WiFi was good. I used Google voice to call me mom every few days… only a slight delay in the transmission. Staff was very nice & helpful.
We’ve done five Viking river cruises…Rhine, Rhône, Bourdeau, Portugal, and Danube (Vienna to the Black Sea). All have been outstanding. We know what to expect. Take advantage of their laundry service. It’s worth the cost.
I've seen the Viking boats in Lyon, Budapest and Porto. It made me sad when I realized that these people will never experience the fine food and wines that are served only a few hundred feet away.
Ordered our medallion in April before our July cruise. Then received an email that our medallion won’t arrive on time. So we will have to stand in the blue lane. Also our birding is in the green line. So Maybe because we didn’t upgrade our cruise package…..they didn’t send out medallions……?
Unlimited food and booze will attract tow types, fat cheapskates and grocery store winos. terrible.
Wow. That looks like a hellish nightmare of epic proportions. Like being held captive on a floating Hampton Inn and being charged for it 😮
LOL. It might be worse than that!!!
Institutional food served in a cafeteria? Grocery store wines? No thank you.
I'm a total newbie when it comes to cruises. Hopefully there's some shaded areas to sit at to people watch without getting a sunburn. I'm more of a watcher than a doer, so I hope I can get used to mixing and partying with others. I'm a bit nervous but am looking forward to the majesty of these huge ships. Wish me luck!
I have done several ocean cruises. We decided to try a river cruise. I will stick to ocean cruises from now on.
It’s definitely a cruise ship that caters more to the 65+ age traveler Nothing wrong with that, but just so people know that this is not going to be a nonstop party!
Did one of the river cruises about five years ago, was unable to go up the river due to low water, which had been a problem for several months missed all but one of my excursions and the one I did go on. I had to be taken in a van and driven. Worst customer service they offered me a $250 voucher on another cruise after I paid over $5000. Would not recommend them to anyone !
There is something mechanical about your reading this script. I can’t keep listening. Sorry.
I always thought I wouldn't like it thanx, I don't need a crowd to surround me at any time
